Also known as the Ricketts or Ugarteche House, this mansion was built in 1738. The gable of its façade is an excellent example of Arequipa’s Mestizo ornamental style. The façade features columns, pilasters, and niches. In the center is a five-branched bush on which cantuta flowers bloom, bearing the Christian family’s monograms . The ground floor encircles two courtyards: the first for the main bedrooms and the second for the dining room, kitchen, and bathrooms . After passing through many hands over the previous three centuries, the mansion is now the headquarters of BBVA Banco Continental and houses a gallery of Arequipeño Republican art.
